What Is Pack 52?

Pack 52 is Oakville's Cub Scout pack, serving youth in Kindergarten through 5th Grade since [ADMIN UPDATE REQUIRED: founding year]. We are chartered by Union Congregational Church and affiliated with Troop 52, giving Cubs a natural path to continue their Scouting journey.

Our Commitment

Safety First

Pack 52 is committed to providing a safe environment for every child and family.

Safety is paramount. No adult may serve in a leadership role with Pack 52 until all Scouting America mandatory training requirements are completed. Background checks are required for every registered adult volunteer.

Youth Protection Training

All leaders complete Scouting America Youth Protection Training before working with youth, renewed every two years.

Trained Leadership

Leaders hold current BSA certifications, position-specific training, and first aid qualifications.

Background Checks

All registered adult leaders pass background screening through Scouting America before taking any role.

Safe Camping Practices

All outings follow Scouting America's Guide to Safe Scouting. Two-deep leadership is maintained at all times.

Age-Appropriate Activities

All programs are specifically designed for Cub Scout age groups — safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate.

Emergency Procedures

Leaders are trained in emergency response protocols. At least one First Aid–certified adult is present at activities.

Pinewood Derby

One of Cub Scouting's most iconic events — held every February at Pack 52.

What is Cub Scouts?

Cub Scouts is a Scouting America program for youth in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. It combines outdoor adventure, family activities, character development, and community service in a fun, age-appropriate setting.

Is Cub Scouts only for boys?

No. Cub Scouts is open to all youth. Girls have been welcome in Cub Scouts since 2018.

Cub Scouts is open to youth in Kindergarten (Lions) through 5th Grade (Arrow of Light).

Does my child need any prior experience?

No. Most Cubs begin with no prior Scouting or outdoor experience. Everything is taught through pack activities — and leaders guide every family along the way.

Absolutely. Families are encouraged to attend a Pack meeting before making any commitment. Just show up — no registration required for your first visit.

What should we expect at our first Pack meeting?

You'll meet: the Cubmaster, Den Leaders, and other families.

Cub Scouting is a great environment for shy children. The group is welcoming, activities are structured, and Cubs quickly build friendships through shared experiences.

Pack 52 meets twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Thursday at 6:00 PM. Additional optional activities, outings, and events are offered throughout the year at a pace that works for your family.

Pack meetings typically include games, a group activity or craft, announcements, and recognition. Den meetings focus on rank-specific advancement activities for each grade level.

Do we have to camp?
